Alcantara Vinyards Wine 2008 Merlot, 2008 Syrah, 2008 Chardonnay, 2009 Ambrosia merlot from Arizona Alcantara is a dream venture created by Owner Barbara Predmore. Barbara and her husband Bob started the vineyard to provide their family and partners the opportunity to work and develop a vineyard community and winery, making wines that are comparable to the best of California and Europe. Barbara had spent four years with research and diligence using the best consultants from the University of Arizona and UC Davis, as well as support from her family at the noted Martin-Weyrich Vineyards in Central California. Alcantara Vineyard is perched on 87 acres of sloping terrain off the Verde River and Oak Creek.
Alcantara Vineyards | Merlot | 2008 | Case of 12 100% Alcantara grapes form this medium bodied red with a delicate European style bursting with cherry and plum flavors supported by warm spices. The balance of softness across the middle compliments a good finish.
Alcantara Vineyards | Syrah | 2008 | Case of 12 Blackberries leap out of the glass exciting the senses in this traditional French style Syrah. It’s light structure exhibits tastes of fresh raspberry, pepper, and rose hips as it glides across the palate with the softness of suede.
Alcantara Vineyards | Chardonnay | 2008 | Case of 12 A silver medal winner at 2010 AWGA. The buttery popcorn and butterscotch nose, extends into a creamy rich palate lush with green apple and pear. This is a full bodied white with a long crisp finish with hints of butter and a touch of vanilla.
Alcantara Vineyards | Ambrosia | 2009 | Case of 12 100% from Alcantara Merlot grapes, this sherry-like dessert has essence of strawberry, toffee, and chocolate. The finish is impeccably smooth and rich. Free run juice was processed after an overnight stay with skins and slowly fermented at 49 degrees to achieve a 15.8% Alcohol wine best served chilled. Sold in 375ml bottles!
