Large Grade Medjool Dates

2023 Harvest! Large Grade Medjools are sweet, moist, and very close to the same quality as the Jumbo dates. Approximately 20-24 dates per pound. Our dates are grown by family farmers in Yuma, Arizona and are current year crop that is hand-sorted by our crew for superior quality.

We feature only the current year’s crop sorted as Jumbo, Large, and Fancy dates based upon the size, skin condition and moisture. Medjool dates are the largest, sweetest, juiciest, cream of the crop, hand-selected just for you. Medjools have an excellent shelf life. Nature has endowed them with a high degree of moisture which ensures that they maintain their freshness for weeks at room temperature and for four to six months refrigerated. Dates freeze exceptionally well and may be kept in closed containers at 0 degrees for at least a year.

Any moisture loss can be regained by adding a little moisture to a plastic bag or other enclosed container and setting them in the sun, or briefly in a microwave to restore and to dissolve any crystallized sugar. Medjools do have a tendency to “sugar” after several months. A whitish film may appear on the surface. It can be wiped away with a damp cloth or simply dissolved with the heat treatment described above. The taste of the dates is not affected.
