Jerome Winery | Nebbiolo
Vintage: 2009. A rustic interpretation delivers haunting aromas of soft florals entwined with earthy notes & a seductive minerality. Robust ripe plums & anise arrive for a lingering and smooth finish. Alcohol Content: 13.34%.
Winemaker’s Notes: This northern Italian red grape is more commonly associated with Barolo & Barbaresco. Gentle oak keeps this red wine lighter and more approachable and doesn’t overpower Nebbiolos earthy nuances.
Pairings: Classic red, Italian sauces, roasted chicken with rosemary, or fontina cheese.
Jerome Winery was John McLoughlin’s first line of handcrafted wines. The wine follows a more traditional way of winemaking, bottled mainly as specific varietal wines. It hearkens back to the family's roots in the business. Family members worked in the vineyard as the first grapevines were planted and harvested by hand. The family photos on the labels honor that tradition of family and independent family businesses.
